2011 – Event Tickets Now Available

CSTS Edmonton is back for 2011! This year, we hope to make it even shinier than last year! Check back for exciting news and information as it unfolds!

This year, our local charity partner is the Youth Emergency Shelter Society (YESS). Just like last year, we will also have a separate auction with items table set aside to raise funds for Kids Need to Read. The remaining 75% of all event proceeds will be donated to Equality Now to support women’s human rights!

Tickets are 15$. This includes 2 screenings – one being the Big Damn Movie of course – a grab bag, and Whedonverse costume contest.

Tickets are now on sale (online only at this time) for 2011. Tickets will be available for in-person purchase at Happy Harbor Comics (vol 1 & 2) in mid-May and at the Alberta Browncoats booth at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo June 17-19.

If we have any tickets remaining, they will be available for purchase at the door.

2010 – Event Recap

Can’t Stop the Serenity took off without a hitch (ok, maybe a few small minor ones) in Edmonton on June 27, 2010. Our small crowd of guests were bubbly and excited – nearly as excited as our poor planning committee. I think they might just have been going round the bend.

We are pleased to announce our CSTS 2010 donation totals (in Canadian $$ of course): $2624.75 will be going to Equality Now, $917.91 will be going to the Edmonton Women’s Emergency Centre, & $231.25 will be donated to Kids Need to Read. Grand total fund’s raised for the charities last weekend was $3773.91 (assuming my math is correct). Way to go everyone!
